Sodium Pyrithione SPT-40

Sodium pyrithione SPT-40 is a low-toxic fungicide. It has good inhibitory and killing effects on 8 kinds of molds, including Aspergillus niger, Aspergillus flavus, Aspergillus versicolor, Penicillium citrinum, Paecilomyces variotii, Trichoderma viride, Chaetomium globosum, and Cladosporium herbarium, 5 kinds of bacteria, including Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus citrinum, Bacillus megaterium, and Pseudomonas fluorescens, as well as various yeasts, including alcohol yeast and brewers yeast.

Application/dosage

Application: Sodium pyrithione SPT-40 is effective against bacteria, fungi and molds, with low usage and high cost performance

Sodium pyrithione SPT-40 does not release formaldehyde, has little irritation to workers skin, and has long action time

This product can be added in any process, with no requirements and adverse effects on the application system

It is mainly used for mildew and antibacterial products in the fields of daily chemicals (shampoo and hair care products), architectural coatings, adhesives, sealants, pesticides, textiles, leather products, metalworking fluids, etc. It can also be used to prepare disinfectants, cleaning agents and medical broad-spectrum antifungal dermatology drugs. It is also an effective fungicide for crops such as fruit trees, peanuts, wheat, vegetables, and an excellent disinfectant for silkworms. SPT and its similar products are widely used in related fields due to their high efficiency, broad spectrum, and low toxicity.

EEC and GB7916-87 stipulate that the maximum allowable concentration of sodium pyrithione in cosmetics is 0.5% by mass, and it is only used in products that are washed off after use. The general use concentration is 250-1000 mg/kg. It is also used in industrial metal cutting oil as a preservative.
