[Introduction] Sanisol, also known as benzalkonium bromide / benzalkonium bromide, is a yellow-white waxy solid or colloid. It is easily soluble in water or ethanol, has an aromatic flavor and tastes extremely bitter. It produces a lot of foam when shaken vigorously. It has the properties of a typical cationic surfactant and can produce a lot of foam when the aqueous solution is stirred. It is stable, light-resistant, heat-resistant, non-volatile, and can be stored for a long time. [St
[Sterilization principle] Surfactants change the permeability of bacterial cytoplasmic membranes, causing bacterial cytoplasmic substances to extravasate, hindering their metabolism and killing them. It has a strong effect on Gram-positive bacteria, but is ineffective against Pseudomonas aeruginosa, acid-fast bacilli and bacterial spores. (The disinfection mechanism of strong oxidizing disinfectants is to oxidize bacterial proteins and kill microorganisms)
[Use] This product is one of the most commonly used surfactants, with cleaning, sterilization and algaecide effects. It is widely used in sterilization, disinfection, preservation, emulsification, descaling, solubilization, etc. It is one of the non-oxidizing bactericidal algaecides, slime strippers and cleaning agents commonly used in industrial circulating water treatment. When used for microbial control and cleaning of circulating water systems, this product has similar activity to Chlorhexidine, but under the same test conditions, this product has better bactericidal activity than Chlorhexidine. For example, at a dosage of 10 mg/L of effective substance, the killing rate of this product against heterotrophic bacteria is 98.9%, while the killing rate of Chlorhexidine against heterotrophic bacteria is 98.3%. In addition, this product has lower toxicity than Chlorhexidine and has the same precautions for use. Under normal use, its use concentration is 50-100 mg/L. This product has the advantages of high efficiency, low toxicity, soluble in water, not affected by water hardness, easy to use, and low cost in sterilization and algae removal. Recommended use: workshop cleaner/disinfectant
[Advantages]
1. Low cost
2. Has both disinfection and decontamination capabilities
3. Does not react with metals
4. Non-toxic and non-corrosive in contact with skin
5. Has a corrosion inhibitor effect and can inhibit corrosion and rust reactions
6. Has a good synergistic bactericidal effect with ethanol. A mixed solution of 0.1% benzalkonium bromide and 75% ethanol by volume has a significant synergistic bactericidal effect on Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Bacillus subtilis and Aspergillus niger.
[Disadvantages]
1. Easy to remain
2. Weak effect on Gram-negative bacilli and enteroviruses, ineffective against Mycobacterium tuberculosis and spores. Summary:
This product has a good cleaning effect and has a corrosion inhibitor effect on metals. In view of the large number of metal equipment and utensils in the workshop, it is recommended as a cleaning agent.
At the same time, this product has a broad-spectrum bactericidal effect, but it has a very poor effect on Gram-negative bacteria and spores. It is recommended to use it to disinfect the outer surface of equipment and complimenting utensils. It is strictly forbidden to disinfect pipelines, inner surfaces of equipment, containers and other parts that directly contact the product.
